NYC Here I Come….

It’s hard to believe that it’s been 9 weeks since I qualified for Finals for the Wilhelmina Hot Body Modeling Contest. It’s been an amazing 9 weeks of hard core, disciplined, mental and physical highs and lows in preparation for the Finals next Tuesday (February 23rd) in New York City. I couldn’t have done it without the support of my family, most importantly Michele, Cesar Martinez, my personal trainer who kicked my ass every day keeping me on track, and my closest friends. I don’t think I could be anymore ready than I am. It’s all about the journey, right? I am excited, and yes, a little nervous, to see where this one takes me. In my mind, regardless of what happens, I already consider myself a winner. To be selected as one of 30 guys to make it to the semi-finals out of thousands that applied. Then on top of that to win the most public votes to qualify for finals, is a huge accomplishment in an of itself. This is just the icing on the cake to go to NYC.

Activities begin with a press conference with all the finalists on Monday afternoon and conclude Tuesday night with a VIP Party, where the grand prize winner will be announced. Until then, wish me luck….

Artificial sugars:  Created to pacify the sweet cravings of dieters, sweeteners do more than sweeten your food — they serve as a health hazard.  Aspartame, Acesulfame K and Saccharine are all chemically produced to sweeten our foods without the calories of sugar. Even Splenda, which has a better reputation is not as clean as it should be. Ironically, these empty calories can create a vicious cycle of craving more sweets, with the inevitable consequences of weight gain. They have been linked to behavioral problems, hyperactivity, allergies and are possibly carcinogenic.
